In a completely different context, the ceremonial opening of the newly renovated building yard took place in Fehring, such as meinbezirk.at . The building yard, which looks back on a construction period of less than one year, was extensively rebuilt and expanded for 2.36 million euros. Mayor Johann Winkelmaier emphasized the importance of this investment, which was funded by 50 percent by Styria. The improvements include modernized team rooms, a new extension and contemporary facilities for machines and vehicles.

The building yard, founded in 1981, is now shown in a new splendor with an extended area of around 250 m² and 19 new parking spaces. The sustainable aspects, such as the switch to wood chip heating and the installation of a photovoltaic system, also emphasize the responsibility of the community to reduce the ecological footprint. This extensive renovation is considered urgently necessary in order to meet the requirements of the modern infrastructure and also offer suitable storage rooms to the fire brigade in the future. City pastor Christoph Wiesler took over the official blessing of the new premises.
