Big protest in Innsbruck: For a colorful, solidarity Austria!

On the evening of January 16, 2025, around 400 people gathered in Innsbruck to protest against the current government policy. The demonstration took place at the Annasal and was supported by prominent personalities such as the former Green Governor Ingrid Felipe and the ex-ÖVP state councilor Beate Palfrader. Felipe expressed the desire to "give the silent majority a voice in these difficult times", while Palfrader explains that it does not agree to the processes and that the future development of democracy is concerned, as reported on tirol.orf.at.

The protesters in particular criticized the current negotiations between the FPÖ and the ÖVP and the associated austerity measures that became known on Thursday. This includes the abolition of educational leave as well as the climate bonus, cuts in guest houses and the ban on the additional benefits of unemployment benefit, which many citizens have already called on the barricades. The next demonstration will be planned in two weeks to continue to make these topics.
