The Spanish series "Querer" and the French production "only 37 seconds", both of which won both main prizes. These successes not only reflect the creative talents behind the productions, but also the important role of Arte as a platform for innovative television content.

The series "Querer", which was staged by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, received the "Grand Prize" in international competition. The plot revolves around the 53-year-old Miren, who leaves her husband and sues him for sexual violence. This profound examination of a sensitive topic shows how series can initiate social discourses and was recognized without criticism.

In addition, the series "Only 37 seconds", a collaboration between Anne Landois and Sophie Kovess-Brun, was recognized as "best French series". This series, which is based on the tragic fall of the trawler "Bugaled Breizh", follows the emotional search of a sister -in -law after the truth about this incident, in which all five sailors died. With six episodes, each of which lasts 52 minutes, the story is broadcast on television both online on art.tv and in April 2024.

Another award winner was the series "The Deal". This is a tragic-dramatic consideration of international negotiations between the United States and Iran, in which the problems of the main character, the head of the diplomatic mission, gives a deep insight into the personal challenges that go hand in hand with such negotiations. The series received a special mention for the "best script".

As part of the competition for short formats, "El’sardines" was awarded Zoulikha Tahar and Kaouther Adimi. This series tells the story of Zouzou, a marine biologist who is confronted with family challenges during her expedition. With a length of six episodes of 10 minutes, "El’sardines" is expected to be broadcast on various platforms such as arte.tv, youtube and Instagram in June 2025.

The "Séries Mania" festival is considered one of the most important platforms for license traders and program buyers. Despite the current challenges in the production landscape, the fair recorded an increase in participation. This year, around 4,500 industry visitors from over 70 countries took part, and 418 series from 56 countries were submitted, which impressively reflects the variety and creative potential of European productions. The market part was sacrificed by the introduction of the "Buyer Upfront" to bring important transmitters and streaming providers together and to give them an exclusive insight into concise new projects.
