Surely travel 2025: Germany among the best travel destinations worldwide!
The publication of the "Travel Risk Map 2025" by A3M has evaluated current risks for travel destinations worldwide. This card shows a classification of the countries of very low risk (light green) to strong risk (red).
Germany was classified on the map light green and is therefore on a stage with countries like France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Botswana, Namibia and Morocco. Dark green are countries such as Canada, Norway, Finland and Iceland, which are considered very safe. In contrast, dark red countries are often affected by war areas or strongly by poverty, including Ukraine, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan as well as Central Africa and Myanmar. Georgia has orange marked regions due to unrest after the parliamentary elections, while Mexico is considered highly risky due to restriction and territorial fights.
risk categorization and security situation
Most countries are classified as green in Europe, whereby dark green is considered very safe. The risk categorization takes place in five stages:
- dark green: very low risk, no restrictions.
- light green: low risk, few restrictions.
- yellow: increased risk, without far -reaching precautions.
- orange: high risk, larger restrictions required.
- red: very high risk, comprehensive precautions necessary.
It should be emphasized that the rankings of International SOS and A3M in the "Risk Map" also confirm that security risks have not been reduced worldwide and that there are no countries with better classification. In the risk classification, countries such as Libya, Somalia, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq and Syria are classified as extremely high risk. Ukraine has been extremely uncertain since 2022 and is also represented in this category.
The highest risk levels can be found in almost 50 countries, including Mali, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar, Pakistan, Papua-Neuguinea, Venezuela, Honduras and Haiti. Recent conflicts have increased the risk classification for Sudan and Lebanon.
In comparison to 2024, some countries have improvements. The top 5 of the countries with the greatest improvements are Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Moldova. On the other hand, Bolivia, Haiti, Iran, Lebanon and Mexico are among the greatest losing.
In addition, natural disasters, such as heat waves and forest fires in southern Europe as well as heavy rains and fires in Los Angeles, show an increasing importance in the context of travel warnings.
