Memmingen, Deutschland - The AfD has a new star in the political sky: Dr. Simon Kuchlbauer. At the nomination assembly for the newly created Bundestag constituency Memmingen-Unterallgäu, he was elected by an overwhelming majority. The assembly, headed by Christoph Maier, Member of the Landtag, attracted 38 voting members who clearly voted for Kuchlbauer. The Kuchlbauer, born in 1976, has been a member of the AfD since 2013 and has decades of experience as a speaker for science and art as well as a member of the district council, such as the Allgäuer Zeitung reported.

Kuchlbauer’s political agenda

In his imagination speech, Kuchlbauer emphasized the importance of direct democracy and criticized the current state of Germany. His ambitious goal is to bring about a political change to "stop the country's further decline". There are important topics for him such as ensuring medical care in rural areas and the maintenance of jobs. In addition, he calls for the reduction of exuberant bureaucracy and a sustainable energy supply and decidedly reject the expansion of wind power, which he describes as "completely unacceptable". The website of the AfD Unterallgäu-Memmingen emphasizes, that Kuchlbauer pays particular attention to peace negotiations in Ukraine and wants to work for prosperity in the region.

Member of the Landtag Christoph Maier expressed a positive statement about this clear choice and believes in a committed election campaign with Kuchlbauer. The choice of the new direct candidate marks a decisive step towards the 2025 federal election for the AfD in the constituency of Memmingen-Unterallgäu.
