Hochstrass, Österreich - On April 4, 2025, the Baden district, in the field of high -wing/Schwabonförfl, occurred with a serious incident with a motorized flight kite. Shortly after 3:00 p.m., the pilot lost control of the aircraft and crashed. The volunteer fire brigade Hochstrass and Klausen-Leopoldsdorf were immediately alerted to a T2 human rescue. In the meantime, the Pressbaum police were already on site and took care of the pilot's first supply together with a team of emergency medical team.
Fortunately, the pilot's condition was stable and it was accessible. He was transported to a hospital for further treatment. More precise information on his injuries is currently not yet available. The fire brigade measures covered the protection of the accident site and ensuring the aircraft in cooperation with the police. The fleet of the DRF air rescue is considered the most modern in the area of civil air rescue in Europe. The last EC135 was withdrawn from the operational service, the organization now only operates H135 and H145 helicopters. In this fleet, 32 H145 helicopters are currently in use that are suitable for dual inserts.
DRF air rescue is already testing innovative projects to improve patient care, such as a new blood test for early detection of brain bleeding.
