Flight operations in Moscow briefly paralyzed due to drone attacks!
On December 26, 2024, Russia's aviation authority temporarily stopped air traffic on all four large Moscow airports. The airports were affected by Scheremetjewo, Domodedowo, Wnukowo and Schukowski. There were also restrictions at the airport in Kaluga, which is about 190 kilometers southwest of Moscow. There are no concrete reasons for this measure, but it is known that restrictions are often due to drone attacks from Ukraine. In the case of previous incidents, Russia's defense measures were the trigger for the flight cancellations, but this time no such measures were informed as reported on PZ News.
Within a short time, however, the all -clear was given. Ukraine has been a defense against Russian invasion for almost three years, supported by the West. The current drone attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces are aimed deep in the southwest of Russia, as N-TV reported. In the meantime, the Russian aviation supervision Rosawiazia temporarily stopped operating at three airports: Kasan, Ischewsk and Saratow. Kasan, located 800 kilometers east of Moscow, experienced several waves of attacks in the morning.
drone attacks and their effects
According to the Ministry of Defense in Moscow, there were a total of eight drone attacks in Kazan, with six of them met. Local authorities did not report any reports on victims. In Ischewsk and Saratow, the starts and landings were also temporarily suspended. The mayor's office in Kazan reported attacks on residential buildings in three districts. These attacks take place in a context in which the Ukrainian Air Force reported 113 drone attacks by the Russian armed forces at night, 57 of which could be intercepted and destroyed, while 56 did not achieve their goals.
Russia itself also reacted with attacks, including the expression of an S-400 rocket to the center of Ukraine, which did no damage. Otherwise, it can be observed that Russia carries out attacks on Ukraine almost every day with dozens of drones, often with the aim of affecting energy supply. In the past few weeks, Russian armed forces have also gained ground in the east of Ukraine, such as taking the village of Kostjantynopolske in the Donetsk region, whereby an independent check of control over this area is currently not possible.
