2024: The hottest year of all time - alarm level red for our planet!

The world is on the abyss: 2024 will be the hottest year ever!

The alarm bells ring loudly and clearly! According to the Copernicus Climate Watch service, in 2024 with absolute certainty the hottest year that humanity has ever experienced will be. A year in which the temperatures over the critical brand of 1.5 degrees Celsius will increase - a dangerous point that could turn the earth into an uninhabitable hell!

The latest data is terrifying: an unprecedented heat thrust has driven the global average temperatures between January and November so that in 2023 the hottest year will go into history. "It is now practically certain that 2024 will be the warmest year ever," announced the EU agency in its current bulletin.

A look at the climate future

The scientists from Copernicus use billions of measurements - satellites, ships, aircraft and weather stations - to create their climate calculations. Their records go back to 1940, but other data sources such as ice drilling nuclei and tree rings enable researchers to draw more far -reaching conclusions.

Current warming is alarming: Scientists estimate that the earth has never been as warm in the past 125,000 years. November 2023 was the second warmth of November since the beginning of the records, while Portugal experienced its hottest November ever-the average temperature was 2.69 degrees Celsius above the average from 1981-2010.

exceed the 1.5 degree mark

Another dark milestone: 2024 will be the first calendar year in which the temperatures are more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above the pre -industrial values. This is the time when humanity began to burn large amounts of fossil fuels. Scientists warn urgently: exceeding this brand over a longer period of time could bring the earth to serious danger. As part of the Paris climate agreement, the international community has undertaken to limit the warming to this safer level.

But reality looks different: the world is far from this goal. In October, the UN warned that the current climate protection measures could lead to catastrophic heating of 3.1 degrees Celsius. The CO2 emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels are the main cause of climate change and, despite global promises, increase from coal, oil and gas.

The consequences are devastating: Extreme weather events are increasing - from fatal floods in Spain and Kenya to violent tropical storms in the USA and in the Philippines to heavy drought and forest fires in South America. At the UN climate negotiations in November, rich countries have promised $ 300 billion a year by 2035-an amount that is criticized as completely inadequate.
