Art and culture: Tübingen shows fascinating pre -Columbic artifacts!

Hölderlinstraße 12, 72070 Tübingen, Deutschland - in Tübingen opened its doors on Thursday evening the excited exhibition "Art and Cult" in the Museum of the University of Tübingen (courage). This first presentation of pre-Columbic art objects shows an impressive collection of artifacts that often go back to Maya culture. This includes artistically designed ceramics, textiles and filigree gold jewelry. Objects of less well-known meso and South American cultures, such as the Zapoteken and Chimú, are also exhibited. This unique collection not only offers a look at past civilizations, but also enables a deep understanding of your art and traditions, such as swp.de reported.

parallel to the exhibition "Art and Cult" there is a remarkable discovery in paleontology. Under the direction of Prof. Madelaine Böhme, a new type of ape called Buronius Manfredschmidi was identified in the hammer smithy, known by the find of the great ape Danuvius Guggenmosi. These finds, which are exhibited together with the remains of Danuvius, present not only the evolution of the great apes, but also their complex ecology millions ago. The small, presumably vegetarian -living Buronius provides new knowledge about the variety of great apes in Europe. This special exhibition runs until December 20, 2024 in the Paleontological Collection in Tübingen. Further details can be found on the university's website, such as uni-tuebingen.de reported.
