The Koralmsche is currently in the test and training phase. From April 14th, a total of 32 test days for the track systems and the high -voltage area will be scheduled, which will last until June 12th. In order to ensure safe implementation here, state -of -the -art measurement trains are used, which are equipped with sensors. These devices document vibrations, energy supply and signal strengths, while the trains reach speeds of up to 160 km/h.
intensive test drives and training
In the coming months, experienced train drivers will take over the test drivers, which are to achieve a top speed of up to 250 km/h at the overhead line tests. A comprehensive program for training the train drivers is carried out, with route videos and practical training also being used. These measures are necessary to ensure the technical competence of the train drivers and to increase operational safety.
like 5min.at , the test drives are not without restrictions. During the test days there will be a daily lock on the affected routes. The lines S3 between Klagenfurt and St. Paul im Lavanttal and S6 in Styria are affected. A rail replacement traffic is set up to minimize the effects on local transport.
an important infrastructure for the future
