Two small pandas conquer Gelsenkirchen: Akeno meets Pushpa!

Gelsenkirchen, Deutschland - Gelsenkirchen, an exciting event for animal lovers! A new little panda named Akeno conquered the zoom experience world a few days ago. The almost one -year -old bear comes from the renowned Zoo Parc de Beauval in France and was brought into the world of experience on the recommendation of the European Conservation Breeding Program EEP (European Zoo Association). Akeno brings a breath of fresh air to the complex, which was previously shaped by the grief for the late Panda male Kenzo.

Now Akeno lives together with the Panda female Pushpa in the Asian experience world. After a usual quarantine, the two pandas were brought together and the first meeting was a complete success! Akeno curiously explored his new home while Pushpa watched him with great curiosity. These first encounters are crucial for the future relationship between the two, and the signs are good!

The small "fire foxes" from the eastern Himalaya and Southwest China are at risk. Your habitat shrinks through deforestation, poaching and illegal pet trade. There are fewer than 10,000 of these fascinating animals worldwide. If you want to use the opportunity to experience Akeno and Pushpa up close, you can visit the two daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Zoom Erlebniswelt. A visit that is not only entertaining, but also important for awareness of the protection of this endangered species!
