In a captivating semi-finals of the women's handball European Championship in Vienna, defending champion Norway confidently moved into the final by defeating Co-hosts Hungary with a clear 30:22 (13:11). The Olympic champions were dominant throughout the game, with the world handball player Henny Reistad as an outstanding player who scored seven goals. Hungary, which had surprisingly moved into the quarter -finals, could not withstand the pressure and fell significantly back in the second half.
In the other semi -finals, Denmark triumphed against the world champions France and secured the finale with a narrow 24:22 (13:11). A highly competitive duel developed, in which the Danish defense was decisive and France left little space in the second half, only allowed three goals in about 18 minutes.
