Iranian opposition calls for the fall of the regime in Paris!
Tehran, Iran - in Paris there was a large demonstration of Iranian oppositional to the regime in Tehran, in which numerous Iranian activists from all over Europe, including many from Austria, raised their voice. According to the umbrella organization of the Iranian opposition groups, the NCRI, which also includes the Volksmujaheddin, more than 20 buses from Austria have made their way to France to protest against political conditions in Iran. Riad al-Asaad, a former Syrian rebel leader, gave the demonstrating hope in a video address: "The Iranian regime will fall like the Syrian regime, faster than you think" was reported in the news of APA.
In the context of these protests, international politics plays a central role. US President Donald Trump announced that it would increase the pressure on Tehran through economic sanctions. While the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expressed the desire for negotiations with the United States, he made it clear that they could not take place under the "maximum pressure", as this would be equivalent to Iran. Trump had previously announced that he wanted to revive the policy of "maximum pressure" from his first term, even though he is also interested in a new nuclear agreement, as is the case in the reporting of APA and wikipedia
Tehran in the focus of the protests
Tehran, where the regime is under strong international pressure, is not only the capital of Iran, but also a city with a population of around 9.8 million people. These demonstrations in Paris reflect the displeasure of many Iranians who suffer from repressive conditions in their home landing. The events make the complexity of the spiritual and political structures in Iran more clearly recognized. While the opposition is mobilizing, the regime in Tehran continues to caught up in domestic political difficulties and is also put under pressure through international sanctions.
