France's government crisis: Macron between loss of power and the new beginning
Paris, Frankreich - France has been stunning in the deepest political crisis since 1962 after Prime Minister Michel Barnier was disempowered by a vote of no confidence in his government. An alliance of the left and right was responsible for Barnier for his controversial budgetary policy, which led to a budget deficit of 6.2 percent, which is more than the double value of the EU requirements. The shock waves of this political shock also reach President Emmanuel Macron, who is now forced to quickly appoint a new prime minister reported. Despite appeals after his resignation, Macron confirmed that he wanted to fulfill his mandate to the end and referred to the democratic legitimation of his term.
uncertain future of the government
The situation in France remains tense: While Barnier fell through the notification of no confidence, demonstrators marched in Paris who protested the political measures of the Barnier government. Unions mobilized teachers and employees of the public service in order to express their dissatisfaction with the partly draconian austerity measures. "Even if this government has fallen, we do not expect any improvements," says one participant in the protest, such as "https://www.nzz.ch/international/chaostage-in-nach-dem-sturz-der-der-Wieder-bei-emmanuel-macron-LD.1861000"> NZZ reported .
Macron came together with the stopped Barnier on Thursday evening before announcing the establishment of a new government in a television speech. However, in the meantime, the executive government will only be able to act to a limited extent and cannot adopt new laws. Planned savings of 60 billion euros to reduce the deficit have become obsolete with the fall of the government, which significantly endangered the country's financial stability. The upcoming reforms for the renovation of state finances have to wait until further notice, while the anxious question remains when France will finally get back to a stable government.
