Arab states ask Hamas for disarmament and power output

Arab and Muslim states, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, have a joint call to the

claims to Hamas

The common document states that "government, case law and security in the entire Palestinian area must only lie at the Palestinian Authority (PA), with appropriate international support." It is also required that "Hamas gives up its rule in the course of the end of the war in the Gaza Strip and hand over its weapons to the PA, supported by international engagement to enable a sovereign and independent Palestinian state."

poisoning of global relationships

The text also condemns the fatal attack of Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023 and proposes the sending of a "temporary international stabilization group", which should work at the invitation of the PA and under the patronage of the United Nations. "We welcome the willingness of some Member States to contribute troops," says the explanation.

French confirmation and support

France, which the conference was shared, described the declaration as "unprecedented". The French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot explained to the United Nations on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia and the Arab and Muslim countries will first condemn terrorism-the terrorist acts of October 7th. This is followed by a call for disarmament of Hamas and the hope of a normalized relationship with Israel.

The role of Egypt and Qatar

Egypt and Qatar are the two agents in the negotiations on an armistice. Both countries maintained relationships with Hamas and Israel during the war. A plan for the Gaza Strip, which Egypt worked out in March, excluded Hamas from the government after the end of the war. A draft of this plan that CNN obtained stipulates that a Palestinian body is temporarily ruled - with the aim of taking over the power of Hamas and finally handing over to the Palestinian autonomy.

The backing for the two-state solution

Saudi Arabia has repeatedly pleaded for a revival of the two-state solution. France has announced that it is resentment of Israel in September to recognize a Palestinian state. The United Kingdom has also announced that they want to recognize a Palestinian state in September, unless Israel agrees with an armistice in the Gaza Strip. Israel and the United States have sharply condemned France and Great Britain.

The attitude of Hamas

However,

Hamas shows no signs of power output in the Gaza Strip. In the past, leaders of the group have made contradictory statements about their role in a possible post-war gaza. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decidedly rejects the two-state solution and argues that it is incompatible with the security of his country.
