Eintracht Frankfurt: On Champions League course despite the squad-Rochade!

Eintracht Frankfurt has positioned itself in third place in the Bundesliga during the winter break and shows an impressive squad width. Trainer Dino Toppmöller since June 12, 2023 in office, meets weekly personnel decisions and can resort to a variety of talented players, including stars such as Omar Marmoush, Hugo Eldi, Hugo Larsson, Robin Koch and Arthur Theate. Eintracht also dreams of participation in the Champions League.

In the current season, however, some players had to deal with challenges. Junior Dina Ebimbe has missed the breakthrough and has not been in the squad in the past few weeks. Niels Nkounkou shows a lack of development because he did not achieve scorer points this season. Farés Chaibi, who had a promising start, has also subsided since January 2024 and only scored two goals in almost 970 minutes. Newly emerging talents such as Jean-Matteo Bahoya and Igor Matanovic need more playing time to develop.

transfer policy and squad quality

Sports director Markus Krösche plans a quiet transfer winter because he is satisfied with the current team and considers the scaffold of the team to be stable. Toppmöller has many different qualities in his squad, which will be of great importance for the challenges of the second half of the season.

Dino Toppmöller, born on November 23, 1980, has had an interesting career in football. Before he became a coach of Eintracht, he was among others F91 Dudelange, where he led the team into the group phase of the UEFA Europa League, and assistant coach at RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich. After his time at Bavaria, he was released in March 2023 and took over the management of Eintracht a few months later.
