EU Commission in the crisis: the auto industry destroys from the Leyen!
The Freedom European Parliamentarian Mag. Roman Haider has practiced sharp criticism of the new action plan for the European automotive industry, which Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented. Haider described this plan as "the death blow" for the industry and criticized the strict net zero emission goals, which according to him are not only unrealistic, but also harmful to Europe's competitiveness. "These regulations are unique worldwide and play our competitors into the hands while they have no positive effects on the environment," said Haider. He emphasized that the auto industry was once one of the leading sectors in Europe, but had drastically changed within a few years through the planned ban on combustion vehicles, such as ots.at reported.
Another circumstance that Haider spoke is, the short-term shift of the CO2 requirements is by the Leyen, which provides considerable penalties for the carmates in the event of violations. He described this measure as a "pure sedative pill" that the problems would not solve. "In order to save the European auto industry, the ban on burners must immediately fall," said Haider. The decline in the sales figures for electric cars in the EU must be taken seriously instead of the commission throws around with temporary solutions that do not bring about any real change of policy, Haider continues. In his opinion, this attitude of the EU leads to an unchecked downward trend, and he sees the need to completely rethink the Green Deal, as Logistik-express.com reported.
radical turn required
Haider criticized the possible stubbornness of the European People's Party (EPP) and asked them to work for a change of policy. "It is up to the EPP whether it continues to contribute to the destruction of Europe or finally want to take the path of reason," he said. He now sees the chance for new progress alliances with patriotic forces to tackle the challenges that affect the European auto industry. According to Haider, a massive loss of value creation and jobs threatens if it is not immediately traded to support the industry.
