Industry climatic 2030: Austropapier invites you to the press conference in Vienna!

Austropapier represents the interests of 23 members and employs almost 8,000 people in the Austrian paper industry.
The interlocutors include Martin Numberbruckner, President of Austropapier, as well as Sigrid Eckhardt, the managing director, and Sebastian Heinzel, the sustainability spokesman. industry climate and sustainability initiatives
With a share of around 68 percent of renewable energy sources in the industry, Austropapier is a leader in sustainable energy use. The waste paper assignment rate is over 86 percent, which puts the Austrian paper industry in Europe. These achievements are part of a comprehensive strategy that also includes the circular economy in order to use resources more efficiently and reduce waste.
The EU is making progress in reducing pollution. Nevertheless, the air quality remains an important problem that needs to be addressed. In order to achieve the climate goals by 2030, stronger measures are required. A new dashboard should offer transparency about progress in the regions regarding the environmental goals.
forest inventory and challenges
This year's forest inventory shows that storage development in the domestic forests is stagnating for the first time since the 1960s. This stagnation is viewed as a negative development, but at the same time opens up opportunities for the conversion to climate -like forests. The industry is therefore confronted with the challenge of sustainable the forest stocks and promoting biodiversity.
For the promotion of women in the paper industry, the submission for the Women4Paperishology Award 2025 began. Nominations are already possible and show that the industry is also active in social terms and promotes equality.
The upcoming press conference will not only present current figures and objectives, but also the challenges and opportunities that the Austrian paper and pulp industry faces. For further information on the industry, the Austropapier website is available, which offers comprehensive insights into the goals and developments ( austropapier.at ).
