Feldbach's new biomass heating work: Green progress for the city!

Feldbach, Österreich - On December 12, 2024 , an ambitious project was launched in Feldbach to revolutionize the city's heat supply. With an investment volume of crisp 9 million euros , Energie Styria has opened a new biomass heating plant, which will play a crucial role in the provision of renewable energy in close connection with the existing district heating. The aim is to increase the proportion of green heat in the district heating network to over 80 percent and at the same time significantly expand the supply area, as Orf Styria reports. Board spokesman Christian Purrer described the project as a "important step towards decarbonization" of urban heat supply.

The new heating plant that is operated in Mühlgasse comprises two boiler systems with a total output of 3,000 KWTH and will burn about 21,000 cubic meters regional hack material annually, which almost corresponds to 300 truck loads . Thanks to the modern technology, the heating plant will save around 3,400 tons of CO2 emissions every year, which makes a significant contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gases, so
