Alarming development: rising energy prices burden households in Salzburg!
In Salzburg, financial losses are at risk of many households, while Caritas becomes active both locally and internationally due to rising emergencies. According to the Caritas of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, the end of various support services such as the living area will lead to a monthly loss of more than 100 euros for affected families. These changes could be threatening to exist for people who had previously difficulty making rounds. Caritas director Kurt Sonneck warned, especially single parents, minimum retirement and families with several children are badly affected.
Due to the new regulations, households must expect an annual consumption of 3,500 kWh of around 30 euros per month. This is directly related to the reduction in the heating allowance from 600 to 250 euros annually. The effects of the abdressions of the Energie residence, which previously secured up to 1,600 euros a year, are particularly dramatic, which results in a decline of over 130 euros per month. Sonneck predicts that many people will visit Caritas social counseling in the future to receive support for topics such as energy and living.
