Wilhelmshaven invests in new e-charging stations for lantern parkers!
Wilhelmshaven, Deutschland - Wilhelmshaven upgrades - the city plans to extend a comprehensive expansion of the charging infrastructure for electric cars. With the support of the state of Lower Saxony, regional authorities are working on a concept that is intended to promote the use of electric vehicles. Climate protection manager André Lachmund represented Wilhelmshaven at a meeting in Hanover, where representatives of 15 municipalities received the first results of the strategic planning. The goal: A comprehensive care, especially for lantern parkers, i.e. drivers who live in residential areas without their own charger. Administrative spokeswoman Julia Muth emphasizes that investors should be found for location -specific charging facilities in order to expand the offer where there are currently deficits, such as in central residential areas.
charging stations for the future
Electromobility is top priority in Wilhelmshaven. The city has developed an electromobility strategy to identify potential locations and even build its own charging options in urban properties. Electromobility should not only be funded, but also diversified by existing charging points, as the concept complements, which also takes into account the integration of existing charging infrastructure at petrol stations and supermarkets. These measures are part of a larger plan of the state of Lower Saxony to build around 6000 charging points nationwide, which is a decisive step towards climate neutrality. Transport Minister Olaf Lies calls for a coordinated execution of these plans to standardize and improve access to charging stations.
More and more vehicles on Wilhelmshaven's streets are electrical and for good reason: they offer emission -free driving fun and contribute to the urgently needed transition. The city provides a variety of loading options, both public and commercial to make the use of electric vehicles even more attractive. The willingness to use electric cars is further strengthened by the extensive expansion plans as well as by advice and funding opportunities from the city and specified companies, as in the reports of nwzonline and wilhelmshaven.de can be read.
