Offenbach starts with e-charging stations: Way free for green mobility!
Senefelderstraße, Offenbach am Main, Deutschland - In Offenbach, electromobility is now really very important! The city inaugurated its first public e-charging station on Senefelderstrasse today. Under the direction of Mayor Sabine Groß, the head of the Office for the Environment and Climate, Wiebke Fiebig, and the EVO technology board member Günther Weiß, the construction of a total of 50 other charging stations will be promoted by the end of 2025. This is followed by the results of a process that started in 2023, which is intended to ensure the development of a sustainable and needs -based charging infrastructure, as RheinMainverlag.de
First step into the future of mobility
The first station offers two charging points with a capacity of up to 22 kW and is expected to be put into operation at the beginning of next year. The expansion is funded by several providers who will work in Offenbach. In this way, a competition is to be created that makes prices more attractive for users. The operators are asked to apply for further charging stations as soon as the existing ones are fully utilized. This dynamic expansion is intended to ensure that the infrastructure meets the increasing needs, for example through the number of electric vehicles, such as Of-news.de noted.
The technology behind this sustainable development relies on consistent planning: The city area was divided into 40 sub -areas in order to determine the individual loading requirement by 2025 and 2030. Operators of charging stations have the option of applying to specific locations. The criteria for allocation include environmental protection, accessibility and traffic safety, whereby the first charging stations should be put into operation within the next few months. It is also important that electric vehicles cause significantly less air pollution in operation and are quieter, which increases the quality of life in the city. Mayor Groß sees an opportunity to lead Offenbach on a sustainable development path.
