Lower Austria's delegation visits the largest car manufacturer in the world!

Nagoya, Japan - On May 15, 2025, a Lower Austrian business delegation led by Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner visited the world's largest automotive company Toyota Industries in Nagoya, Japan. This visit pursues the goal of further deepening the existing economic cooperation between Lower Austria and Japan.

The delegation was received there by high -ranking representatives, including Chiaki Yamaguchi, former senior managing director at Toyota Industries, and the designated honorary consul Riki Inuzuka, who is also CEO of the Nagoya Airport. The program also included a visit to the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, which illustrates the company's transformation from a textile machine manufacturer to one of the leading automobile manufacturers worldwide.

As part of the factory visit, Toyota presented innovative technologies, including an autonomous forklift vehicle that is equipped with laser technology, GPS and camera control. Every year, between 150 and 200 of these state-of-the-art forklifts are produced, which are manufactured not only for Toyota, but also for customers such as Coca-Cola. In the production hall for conventional forklifts, new devices are also manufactured every 2.6 minutes, whereby the daily productions can reach up to 400 forklifts with full load.

Another highlight was a musical demonstration project with robots that showed a violin -playing robot that symbolizes the innovative strength of Toyota in robotics.
