In a shocking argument in a municipal accommodation facility in Hörstel, a 35-year-old was arrested after seriously injured a 55-year-old with a knife. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening (November 12th) shortly before midnight when a verbal dispute between the two men escalated.

The suspect, a man with Pakistani citizenship, and his opponent, a Ukrainian, got into a fight that soon turned violence. According to reports, the 35-year-old not only attacked a knife, but also used a chair as a weapon. The 55-year-old suffered severe head and upper body injuries due to the attack, and his danger to life could initially be excluded.

Investigations run at full speed

Thanks to a roommate who alerted the rescue workers, the victim could be moved away from his attacker and medical care. The police were quickly on site and arrested the perpetrator in the accommodation. On Thursday (November 14th) a judge followed the public prosecutor's request and issued an arrest warrant for attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm.
