Water damage in the old town: fire brigade fights for help for hours!
Neuhauser Straße, 80331 München, Deutschland - Munich shaken by catastrophic water damage!
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Neuhauser Straße became the scene of a dramatic water drama that the fire brigade kept in suspense for several hours! Water damage on the ground floor of a shoe store spread like a surface burn over several floors to the underground car park in the fourth basement and exceeded all expectations.
The first emergency services immediately recognized the extent of the catastrophe and called reinforcements - including the train driver and the volunteer fire brigade, which hurried to help with special water vacuum cleaners. But the main problem proved to be a defective hydrant line that had caused this devastating water slump. In the middle of the chaos, the entire building had to be separated from the water network to prevent another catastrophe!
an impending collapse
While the firefighters took care of the flooded areas, they came across an even more alarming discovery in the underground car park: the suspended blanket was about to collapse a short time later! Vehicles that were parked there had already suffered slight damage from falling cover parts - a scary picture! The police were consulted for the keeper to bring the situation under control.
After a long and intensive use that lasted over four hours, the extent of the damage to shocking six -figure amounts was estimated. Munich is now facing a costly challenge, while the fire brigade preserves the city from further water damage!
