Udo pavilion in Pforzheim: Why does the door remain closed?
The "Udo-Pavillon" in Porcelue, an architectural masterpiece, is ready after more than a year of construction, but the doors remain closed to curious visitors! What is behind this futuristic building? A fascinating exhibition is intended to present the story of two remarkable apes from the Ostallgäu Tongrube Hammerschmiede - Danuvius Guggenmosi, lovingly called Udo, and Buronius Manfredschmidi. These two primeval beings lived in an incredible 11.6 million years ago in the Allgäu and are waiting to be discovered!
The renowned scientists Katharina Gsöll and Madelaine Böhme are the heads behind this exciting project. Their discoveries promise to take visitors into a long past era in which the Allgäu was populated by fascinating creatures. But the opening of the exhibition is a long time coming - it will only take place in 2025! What a disappointment for everyone who was looking forward to a journey into the past!
a look into the past
The anticipation for the exhibition is great, but the waiting time could prove to be worthwhile. The finds of Udo and Buronius are not only of scientific interest, but could also revolutionize the understanding of the evolution of the great apes. The curiosity is awakened and the questions arise: What can we learn from these finds? How did these creatures live in a world that differs greatly from our current ones?
