Weimar enthusiastic: Guests are enthusiastic about the city and culture!

Weimar, Deutschland - In the culturally rich city of Weimar, the latest developments in tourism and education sector are of a gratifying nature. Weimar-GmbH has published the results of a nationwide guest survey that show that visitors to the city are extremely satisfied. The result of this survey shows that the guests of Weimar feel "personable, cozy and exclusive". With a total satisfaction assessment of 1.5, the city exceeds the overall German average of 1.7 and the Thuringian average of 1.6. This leads to a noticeable increase in the number of overnight stays, with a plus of nine percent compared to the previous year, as reported by the State Office for Statistics.

The Bildungs horizon of Weimar also expands. Yesterday the solemn matriculation of the new students took place at the renowned Bauhaus University. Around 800 freshmen, mainly enrolled in the courses of architecture and media culture, celebrate their start. The university thus counts almost 4,000 students, a quarter of whom come from abroad. The internationality of the new students is particularly remarkable, including 215 from around 100 countries. The President of the University, Peter Benz, spoke in his welcome speech about the numerous international partnerships with 200 universities worldwide. Mayor Ralf Kirsten welcomed the new students from the city.

Children's legal price and student exchange

In addition, an exchange organization is looking for host families in Weimar for students who plan a stay as part of social or ecological projects. We are looking for families as well as single or childless couples who are ready to share their home with a student for a period of half or a whole year. The guests are between 14 and 18 years old and have different arrival times. The call is aimed at all interested parties who want to register or inform themselves directly at the organization "Experiment", including digital information evenings that will take place on October 22nd.

culturally Weimar is also not quiet. The German National Theater invites you to a special event: a film concert by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnaus "Faust - A German Volknag" is on the program. The silent film from 1926 is accompanied live by the Weimar Staatskapelle, under the direction of the film music specialist Frank Strobel. Murnaus masterful linking of reality and fantastic creates a unique atmosphere, underlined by the musical composition of Bernd Schultheis from 1999.
