On Friday, November 15th, Belvedere Castle becomes the setting for the Grupo de Música Contemporânea de Lisboa (GMCL). This renowned group, which has been promoting contemporary music in Portugal and beyond since 1970, brings their passion to Weimar. As part of a workshop at the Musikgymnasium, the talented young people are introduced to the fascinating facets of modern music by the composers Gerhard Stäbler and Kunsu Shim. At 7 p.m., visitors can expect a free concert that presented works by Stäbler, Shim, Jorge Peixinho, João Madureira and José Carlos Sousa - everything inspired by the poetic world Fernando Pessoas. A musical experience that encourages the senses!

But that's not all! On Thursday, November 14th, the Lichthaus Kino celebrates its premiere with the Finnish comedy "News from Lapland". The story takes place in 1984 and follows the single mother Niina, who, as a temporary journalist, encounters an exciting discovery - a Soviet rocket that is supposed to crash in the ice! A film full of humor and unexpected turns that will make the audience laugh.
At the same time, the anniversary of the Literary Society of Thuringia is celebrated in the Literature Day of the Eckermann bookstore. The "white series" of the Quartus Verlag has now reached 25 editions! From 7 p.m. the authors read Jens-F. DWARS, Andrea Richter and Thomas Spaniel from their works and present the graphically designed stories of the publisher. A literary festival that celebrates the creativity and diversity of Thuringian literature!
In addition, the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Weimar invites you to a special lecture by Igal Avidan on Thursday. From 7 p.m. in the Herdersaal, he will talk about the Jewish-Arabic coexistence in Israel and show that peaceful coexistence is possible-far from the clichés of the "eternal hate". Entry is free and offers a valuable opportunity for discussion and exchange.
