An exciting family day caused a lot of joy on Sunday on the marketplace! For the second time, the city of Weimar invited young parents and their children, and the program offered a colorful spectacle- with eleven information stands, a huge bouncy castle and impressive 40 flea market stalls for baby and children's things! Especially among the new parents, the “welcome trees” met with great enthusiasm. This gift, a tree seedling, has been presented to every new child in Weimar since January 1. The first family day this year was already a complete success!

Legal dispute over real estate - intermediate conclusion for Weimar

In the legal dispute around the House of Stein's house, the district court of Erfurt made a striking judgment! The default judgment against the Spanish owner Joan Bofill was confirmed and the defendant's objection was rejected. Mayor Peter Kleine described this step as a "giant step" towards the buyback of the house. The city of Weimar can now legally request that the property will be cleared and the property is handed over - an unpredictable step, because the investor had bought the building 16 years ago, but never completed it. After four years of legal dispute, the content questions are no longer controversial! A possible objection procedure at the Higher Regional Court in Jena is still pending.

new bouldering hall becomes reality

Another highlight: The German Alpine Club Weimar started building a new bouldering area on the climbing hall on Kromsdorfer Straße on Friday! The symbolic groundbreaking marks the start of a project that results in an investment of 1.3 million euros. The new hall, which enables climbing without rope and belt, is expected to open in the summer of 2025. The reason for the cultivation is the doubled number of members, which has increased steadily since the opening of the climbing hall seven years ago - to the delight of the active climbers in the region!
