Youth fire brigades show their skills: great acceptance in the Wartburg district!

A spectacular day for the youth fire brigades in the Wartburg district! At the end of October, numerous young fire brigade talents gathered in Immelborn to demonstrate their skills. Nine youth fire brigades from the Wartburg district and teams from the districts of Schmalkalden-Meiningen, Gotha, Eichsfeld and Saalfeld-Rudolstadt flocked in the early morning to take part in this exciting competition. The tension was tangible when the exams started after a warm greeting and the division of the judges.

challenges and exams

The young firefighters had to prove themselves in various disciplines, including knot science, equipment science and first aid. For the coveted achievement badges in silver and gold, it was important to master a demanding questionnaire. But that wasn't all! The youth flame in levels 1, 2 and 3 put the participants to the test with additional technical challenges. An absolute highlight was the acceptance of the performance clip, the highest award of the German Youth Fire Brigade. Four youth fire brigades from Buhla, Schmalkalden, Nessetal and Steinbach competed here in gripping disciplines such as shot puts and a 1500-meter relay race.

The speed exercise, in which a hose line was laid over 120 meters, caused thrills. A fire -fighting attack and a knowledge test rounded off the demanding exams. After a strenuous morning there was to strengthen Viennese sausages with rolls, organized by the Immelborn football club. The first award ceremony made hearts beat faster: six achievements in silver, six in gold and numerous youth flames were awarded. The crowning glory of the day was the handover of the performance clip to 30 shining young people who proudly received their awards. A big thank you goes to all helpers who made this unforgettable day possible!
