Kirmes explosion in Mehrstedt: Traditional festival attracts masses!
Mühlhausen. News from Mühlhausen, Bad Langensalza and the surrounding area-here are the most exciting news from the region!
The fair celebration in Mehrstedt created a good mood last weekend! 22 Kirmesburschen and girls under the direction of Platzmeister Luca Hartung together with the home club and the landlord of the parish hall set up a unique festival. On Friday evening, the solemnity began with a solemn prayer in the church, led by editor Elke Pohlke from Holzsussra. A high for the traditional community!
Construction work on the Silbersee start
An important renovation is imminent: the dam of the Silber Lake, located between Grossenlupnitz and the Kindel, is brought up to the fore! Working starts in these weeks, and that means falling trees on the dam and preparing a work area for the building equipment. This was initiated by the Hainich National Park Administration to ensure the safety of the dam. As early as 2019, the water authority found massive defects on the dam, so that now urgently needs to be created!
The Silbersee is not only an idyllic body of water, but also a habitat for many protected species such as amphibians and birds. The repair of the dam is indispensable in order to comply with nature conservation and water rights regulations. However, this measure will keep us in suspense for the next two to three years - only in the winter months should be built!
Mühlhausen also experiences a change in the political landscape: The CDU is now under the direction of Christian Hohlstein, which is succeeding the provisional chairman. Support comes from Daniel Amonat and Matthias Potempa. Amonat was elected first deputy during a meeting. The 32-year-old is already active in local politics as a headmaster and will surely bring a breath of fresh air to the CDU!
