Maritime adventure in the old town hall

A touch of adventure and history filled the old town hall in Rudolstadt on Saturday! The German Society for Shipping and Marine History (DGSM) e.V. invited to an exciting journey through the discovery trips of the British captain James Cook. The Saalfeld Frank Heimann presented the personality of this important discoverer in a lively way and kidnapped those present into the world of seafaring.

The event was supplemented by impressive pictures that Heimann had taken as a lake officer during his travels. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the award ceremony of the Dietrich Redell Foundation, which took place the day before in Berlin. The lecture ended with a culinary foray through the history of seafaring, in which the audience learned how seafarers had prepared their meals since Hanssee - a real treat!

regular school Neusitz shows big heart

On September 2, the student of the Neusitz regular school organized a donation run, which now led to an impressive result! Over 300 students together ran 3112 laps and collected an impressive 6396.82 euros for children with cancer. The best runners were honored, and the highlight was the emotional donation of 4,000 euros to a representative of the parents' initiative for children with cancer in Jena.

The remaining 2400 euros flow into the regular school projects. The school community has once again proven that it holds together and stands for a good cause - an inspiring action that is remembered!
