Resource forum 2024: Sustainability in focus - sewage sludge in the spotlight!
Hochschule Nordhausen, Deutschland - A spectacular event has brought the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences into focus! On October 24 and 25, 2024, the 2nd resource forum took place, an important meeting for experts and interested parties who dealt with the sustainable use of resources. This platform has long since established itself beyond the regional borders and attracts experts from all over Germany and beyond.
The forum, which was under the direction of Professor Folker Flüggen, offered exciting insights into the latest developments and challenges of resource use. The topic of sewage sludge was particularly explosive, which is becoming increasingly important today. Various lectures discussed how the valuable fabrics from sewage sludge can be recovered while the legal framework was illuminated at the same time. Innovative treatment methods for sewage sludge and other waste materials were also very well received.
specialist lectures and networking
The participants were able to look forward to two keynote speeches who deal with recycling and analysis of plant cubes. On the second day, experts such as Prof. R. Pomberger from the Montan University Leoben spoke about the potential of the circular economy and Prof. D. Goldman from the TU Clausthal about the raw material potential in mining residues. At the same time, topics such as sustainable construction and innovative technologies in recycling were discussed, whereby the use of artificial intelligence was also discussed.
The resource industry was strongly represented, with top -class companies such as Veolia Klärschlammverwertung GmbH and Aurubis AG, which presented their current projects and challenges. The event traditionally ended with a tour of the Thuringian Innovation Center for Properties and a networking event in the traditional distillery in Nordhausen. Another resource forum is already planned for October 2025, with a focus on plastic recycling. "See You Again in October 2025 !!"
