Water pipe break in Jena-Nord: When does the water flow again?
In a dramatic incident in Jena-Nord, around 150 households between Nollendorfer Straße and Clara-Zetkin-Straße were cut off from the water supply on Monday evening! The reason? A pipe break at the Dornburger Straße 19 drinking water supply line, which was reported around 5 p.m. The fitters immediately got to work and were already on site at 5:30 p.m.
water shortage and quick solutions
The Stadtwerke press spokeswoman Sandra Werner informed the concerned residents that the cause of the problem could be quickly clarified. The fitters are working hard to restore the water supply. It is expected that most households will be supplied with water again at the latest around 7:45 p.m. However, it could take a little longer for some residents at Dornburger Straße 19 to have water again - possibly until 8:45 p.m.
Werner also calmed the residents with regard to possible cloudings in the water that could be caused by harmless iron particles. These would lie down on their own. Fortunately, there were no restrictions on road traffic through the repair work, so that the residents could remain mobile despite the water shortage. The municipal utilities work tirelessly to normalize the situation as quickly as possible!
