Rapid night ride ends fatal: driver with 1.4 per thousand crashed!

In the night from Thursday to Friday, there was a serious traffic accident on the connecting road between Jena-Iserstedt and Großschwabhausen. A Mitsubishi had strayed from the road and had driven a tree before the vehicle was dragged over 100 meters through a ditch. The car ultimately came to a standstill in an adjacent field.

A witness who discovered the accident vehicle shortly after midnight alerted the police. At this point, however, the driver was no longer at the scene of the accident, which required immediate search measures. However, the investigators were able to quickly find the 28-year-old man near the action.

The reason for the accident quickly became apparent when a breath alcohol test carried out showed a value of over 1.4 per thousand. In Germany, strict rules regarding alcohol are at the wheel, and this value is well above the legal limit, which results in serious legal consequences.

The driver not only had to expect a high property damage of around 25,000 euros on his vehicle, which was classified as total damage, but also received two advertisements. Blood was also taken from him and his driver's license was ensured. These events illustrate the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and the serious legal consequences that can result. Further information on this incident is available from the Jena police, which leads the investigation.
