The 41-year-old Matthias Gawlitza took over the professorship of neuroradiology at the medical faculty of the University of Jena and heads the neuroradiology section at the University Hospital Jena (UKJ). Gawlitza, an expert in image-based diagnostics, specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of strokes and aneurysms. "A closer look into the body enables even better diagnoses and treatments," he emphasizes. With his impressive training, which he received in Mainz and Leipzig, he brings valuable knowledge to the region.

Jägerbergstrasse becomes a construction site

The Stadtwerke Jena Netze have announced that the Jägerbergstraße between the parish of Pfarrgasse and the confluence on Heiligenberg is completely blocked for the duration of the work due to line construction work on the power grid. A detour will be set up and the work should be completed by the end of the year. The residents will be informed in good time on how to reach their properties. Fortunately, the part of the Jägerbergstrasse, which is affected by the blocked federal road B88, remains unaffected by the construction work.

In addition, the fascinating hiking exhibition "Moon Impact" will be opened in the Thuringian University and State Library (Thulb) from November 21. Visitors can explore the creation of the moon and the effects of a huge impact. A special exhibition on meteorites will also be shown in the mineralogical collection of the University of Jena from December 11th.

On November 23, the documentary "Lost time-against silence", which tells the stories of four people who had to live in youth workshops in youth workshops, will be shown in the Schillerhof cinema. With this film, director Torsten Eckold wants to break silence over this dark time and capture the memories of contemporary witnesses.
