In an exciting advance to beautify the winter silhouette, Ilmenau is urgently looking for two Christmas trees for the city center! The city administration has called for citizens to donate spruces, blueptions, firs or Douglasia between ten and twelve meters. These magnificent trees should be grown and splendidly needed - no dry damage is allowed! On Friday, November 1st, the district office of the ILM district remains closed due to a bridge day! This also affects the branch offices on Schönbrunnstrasse in Arnstadt and the hospital road in Ilmenau. Citizens are asked to raise their understanding - because the administration takes a short break!

Attention train driver! From November 8th to 22nd, the railway line between Neudietendorf and Gotha will be completely blocked for extensive construction work! The tracks, soft and signal systems are renewed, in addition, sewer creation work and adjustments to the overhead line are held. The work takes place both during the day and nocturnal! This means diversions and train failures in both regional and long-distance traffic- i.e. eyes open for changing the timetables! In the background of cultural events, the performance of the documentary “Film Touch” in the Arnstadt theater will take place on Tuesday, November 29th. The specific storyline follows the student Hartmut Rosinger in the GDR, which was involved in a network of trust and betrayal. The insight into the complicated relationship between Rosinger and the philosophy student Peter Wulkau raises questions about socialism and the importance of friendship. After the performance, the audience can take part in a question and answer session with the protagonists, and all of this with free admission!
