The IHK Südthüringen speaks of a "shocking" situation that mainly hits small and medium -sized companies.

The economic climate indicator, which summarizes the assessments of the companies on the current situation and expectations for the future, has fallen on only 52 out of 100 points - a clear sign of the dark economic reality in the region! The statistics have been showing a worrying trend since 2017: order declines in the manufacturing trade and service sector are the order of the day. Ralf Pieterwas, general manager of the IHK Südthüringen, warns: "The pace with which the economic situation deteriorates is worried." Over 69 percent of companies report a deteriorated yield situation, and 32 percent write red numbers!

High costs rely on companies!

The economic framework in Thuringia are catastrophic! High energy prices, rising wages and exorbitant raw material costs are increasing to the company. For 69 percent of companies, energy costs are a massive threat to your business model. Only nine percent of companies can make profits! Pieterwas explains: "The large industrial companies in the district are fit for new technologies, but the majority of small and medium -sized companies lack the necessary financial strength."

The IHK urgently calls for measures to improve the conditions of offer, including tax relief and reduction in bureaucracy. "We rely on the fact that the new government puts economic interests in the first place and finally makes the right decisions," said the Chamber of Commerce.
