Insolvency of the Autohaus Staffel Group: Rescue for seven locations?

A dramatic shock for the automotive industry! The car dealership relay group, an important player in the Thuringian and Bavarian car market, has become the preliminary bankruptcy. On October 28, the Meiningen district court ordered the insolvency administration for the group, which operates a total of seven car dealerships. Experts of Pluta Rechtsanwalts GmbH and FRH Rechtsanwälte were employed as preliminary insolvency administrators to save the business and to secure the future of employees.

The Autohaus Staffel Group, which has existed since 1990, has to deal with massive liquidity problems. Managing Director Manfred Staffel said: "We hope that a rescue of our group will succeed together with the bankruptcy administrators." The causes of the bankruptcy lie in the current recession in Germany, which led to a decline in sales in new and used cars. The group has made this retention of buying a lot, and the difficult framework conditions in the automotive industry make the situation even more precarious.

continuation of business operations

However, the insolvency administrators have already taken measures to maintain the company at all seven locations in Hildburghausen, Schleusingen, Sonneberg, Suhl, Coburg and Kronach. The salaries of the 165 employees are secured by bankruptcy money by the end of the year. Sebastian Laboga, lawyer at Pluta, emphasized that everyone involved is interested in continuing business and discussions with suppliers and financing partners are already underway. The hope of a comprehensive renovation of the Autohaus Staffel Group remains, while the administrators check all options to save the company.
