On Thursday, November 21, at 7 p.m., the Gotha Art Forum becomes the setting for a literary highlight! The reading "Kaysersche Bookmarks" promises a captivating evening on which Prof. Dr. Peter Arlt will read from the fascinating novels, poems and art books from the Otto Kaysers collection. He is accompanied musically by the talented Toni Walter on the wing. An event that art and literature fans are not allowed to miss!

The exhibition, which runs until January 5, 2025, offers a deep insight into the life's work of the remarkable Gotha artist Otto Kayser. His works that include painting, graphics and drawings are permeated by topics such as love, beauty and closeness to nature. During the reading, the audience will not only dive into the literary world of Kayser, but also discover the unique bookmarks that are hidden in his books. These special markings, including handwritten notes and memorabilia, reveal the artist's sources of inspiration and give the books a personal touch.

Visitors can look forward to a literary journey that leads through Kayser's world of thoughts. A page kink in Sigmund Freud's "The Uneasy in Culture" refers to the feeling of happiness, while another bookmark in the novel "Ms. Marie Grubbe" by Jens-Peter Jacobsen Kayser's love for his wife. These personal insights make the reading an unforgettable experience!

In addition to the reading, further exciting events are planned as part of the Otto Kayser exhibition. On December 12, 2024, a book and graphic bazaar from Otto Kayser's estate will take place, followed by a finissage with a guided tour on January 26, 2025.
