on Friday evening, around 7:45 p.m., a patrol of the Gotha inspection service stopped a 44-year-old Ford driver in the Gotha district. During the check, it turned out that the driver was traveling without a valid driver's license and was under the influence of narcotics.

A drug racing test resulted in a positive result on amphetamine. As a result of the findings, a blood sample was carried out in the hospital for evidence. The driver was prevented from continuing and initiating criminal proceedings.

The legal consequences for drivers that are under drug influence can be significant. According to a report from Wehner, a distinction is made between a license withdrawal and a short -term driving ban. While the driving ban applies between 1 and 3 months and the driver's license is returned, the driver's license withdrawal means that the driver's license will become invalid and that at least 6-month blocking period follows. A new driver's license can be requested, but without a new driving test, unless proof of suitability is required, among other things by a medical-psychological examination (MPU).
