82 -year -old legend: Peter Lucius and his passion for the Speedway!

Peter Lucius, a passionate motorsport enthusiast, celebrates his 82nd birthday this year. He has been involved in the Meißen Motorsport Club for almost two decades and has made valuable contributions there both as a trainer and in public relations. His love for racing has been accompanied by a lifetime and began in his childhood with a wooden scooter that he received for Christmas. Lucius also remembers a memorable visit to his idol Steve McQueen in the GDR in 1964 when he took part in the Sixdays in Erfurt.

Lucius, who bought his first quad in 2004 at the age of 61, is now planning to step down something. Promotion of young people in motorsport

The Speedway Stadium in Meißen continues to be used to promote young motorsport talents. On October 7, 2024, trial training for children from five years took place there. An example of the success of the event is Tobi, a seven -year -old participant who participated in the trial training for the first time and has now taken 9th place in the championship.

For participation, the children had to bring some things, including sturdy shoes, long pants, a jacket, helmet and gloves, if available.
