Eisenach rescue athletes shine at the German Championships in Hanover!

Hannover, Deutschland - Hannover/Eisenach: The tension was tangible when around 1,200 of the fastest rescue athletes in Germany in Hanover on the first weekend in November competed to the 51st German all-around championships (DMM)! Among the participants were also five talented athletes from Eisenach, who had qualified through the Thuringian State Championships of the German Life Rettungs Society (DLRG). Here it was not only fought for medals, but also for the honor of being recognized as the best lifeguards in Germany!

The championships started with the individual competitions, and Caroline Penz, who had to compete against older competitors at the age of only 12, took up the challenge with flying colors. "I don't let myself be intimidated!" Could be her motto. It showed an impressive performance in the complex disciplines and landed in the good midfield of the 32 best lifeguards in Germany. On the second day of the competition, Emilia Steinbach, Margarethe Lenk, Pia Kammler and Tessa Hartmann burned to improve their times in the seasons. Despite short -term rescheduling due to diseases, the four girls demonstrated that they can grow beyond themselves and improved by a total of five ranks to an excellent 14th place!

a team that convinces!

coach Christian Becker was thrilled: "Although we had to reschedule three days before the competition, the girls showed great performances!" Her intensely trained change paid off and showed the assembled elite that the Eisenacher will continue to be a serious opponent in the future. But not only the athletes shone: Marco and Kerstin Becker, as members of the combat court, ensured the championships. The DLRG, which is the largest voluntary water rescue organization in the world with over 1,900,000 members, once again demonstrated how important these competitions are in order to refine and perfect the techniques for saving people.

The rescue sport is not only a competition, but also an important training for future lifesavers. The Eisenach athletes have impressively showed that they are ready to assert themselves in this demanding area!
