The DHB Cup round of 16 is just around the corner and promises to be a gripping duel! The SC DHfK Leipzig travels to Eisenach for the much-awaited east derby. THSV Managing Director René Witte describes this encounter as "the most important game of the year". Both teams are determined to get one step closer to Final4 and to put the fans in ecstasy!

In the league, the two teams face themselves as direct neighbors: Eisenach ranks with 8:10 points in the 10th place, while Leipzig follows 11th place. Last season, the Eisenacher were able to win both encounters for themselves what the anticipation of the derby only increases. After a narrow 25:24 home win, an exciting 31:29 followed in front of over 1,200 fans who traveled with them!

"A derby is always something special", explains THSV trainer Misha Kaufmann, and Runar Sigtryggsson adds: "The importance is aware of it, no additional motivation is required." The Leipzig coach expects an "intensive game that can go in all directions". The anticipation is tangible, because both teams are hungry for victory!

Eisenach also has great ambitions: "If we can defend and can play our aggressive defense, our chances rise," said Kaufmann. The key to success is to prevent Leipziger's quick tempo game and consistently stick to the game plan. The tension increases and the fans can look forward to a spectacular handball spectacle!
