Eisenach, Deutschland - Eisenach becomes the center of classical music! From October 30 to November 3, 2024, the city celebrates the 8th Bachfest under the impressive motto: "Bach and Bruckner on the 200th birthday of Anton Bruckner". During this festival week, visitors can expect impressive concerts and cultural highlights that bring the music of Bach and Bruckners together. The large opening concert will take place on October 30th at 7.30 p.m. and will present the H minor trade fair by Johann Sebastian Bach, conducted by the Talented Gernot Süßmuth with the Thuringian Bach ColleGium.

The Reformation Day on October 31 promises to become a true festival of music! A cantata service starts at 10 a.m. in the Georgenkirche, followed by an revealing church tour at 11 a.m. The afternoon brings the impressive motet choir Allhelgona at 3 p.m., while at 6 p.m. a festival service at Wartburg takes place with impressive musical interludes. In the days before and after, there are a variety of events that illuminate the history and influence of Bach.

The program is a real festival for the senses: On November 1st, visitors can enjoy organ works by Bach and Bruckner at a lunch concert in the Georgenkirche, followed by a traditional coffee break with the famous Thuringian Blechkuchen in the Nikolaikirche. The day ends with a concert by the Thuringia Philharmonic Gotha-Eisenach in the Landestheater Eisenach.

On November 2, under the motto "Jauchzet, God", other cantatas and solo concerts from Bach are on the program. The final concert on November 3 at 5 p.m. with Anton Bruckner's Great Mass in F minor will also offer a musical masterpiece beyond all expectations. Ticket sales are already running, and admission to many events is also free - a real happiness for all music enthusiasts!
