Full closure of the B7: Windischleuba hits it twice! Motorist frustrated!
Shock for drivers in the Altenburg region! The B 7 in Windischleuba will be fully blocked in 2025 for at least four months. This is not just a temporary inconvenience, but a massive problem for the traffic between Saxony and Thuringia. The construction site work begins in spring or early summer - but when exactly is in the stars.
Stephan Saalfeld, head of unit at the Thuringian State Office for Building and Transport (TLBV), confirmed: "The ailing bridge over the Pleisse must be renewed." A reason that puts the neck hair on the surprised citizens, because the temporary diversions via the B 93 and B 180 promise long traffic jams and nerve war.
New Pleißbrücke-single-track and without traffic light!
The new bridge remains single-lane after construction and is operated without traffic lights, since according to TLBV there is not so much traffic there. "The traffic signs will not unsettle the driver, because you can see the oncoming vehicles well," says Saalfeld. However, this indicates that the difficulties will continue, while around 4,000 vehicles pass the bridge every day, 10.5 percent of them are trucks! Previously, trucks had to be excluded from use over 24 tons.
The mayor of Windischleuba, Gerd Reinboth, comments: "I just hope that the new bridge will not stay in the long run." The new makeshift bridge will cost around 750,000 euros and enables uncomplicated disassembly, the motorway feeder comes once - if it comes.
