Process for drugs and theft: defendant on e-scooter in court!
Altenburg/Meuselwitz-A drama in the Altenburg District Court: The 31-year-old Gregor Mannheimer sits on the dock and looks nervously between the witnesses and his relatives. He has to deal with serious accusations - is he an unscrupulous drug dealer or just addicted? On the second day of the trial, this question remains unanswered, while the process is stalling due to a lack of evidence and uncooperative witnesses.
Mannheimer, currently in custody, is not only confronted with drug offenses, but also because of predatory theft and driving without a driving license. A surveillance video that is supposed to show him when clawing in a supermarket is missing, and the witnesses appear late or not at all. The public prosecutor's investigation is aimed at an incident in which he met with an e-scooter without a license plate of a police patrol and fought for his escape. When he was arrested, the officers found chewing gums that contained five bags of crystal meth - a clear indication of drug trafficking.
The evidence increases!
The house searches in Mannheimer's apartment and that of his partner showed further stressful evidence: a pipe, empty cliff bag and even a stolen e-bike were ensured. In order to support the involvement in drug trafficking, there was also stressful information from chats that indicate drug sales. "There was talk of buying green or beer," said a witness about the decrypted news that is full of codes that are known from the scene.
But the negotiation is becoming more and more chaotic: the private detective, who observed the theft situation, appears late and informs that the decisive surveillance video, which presents him as a witness, is no longer present. After hours of back and forth, the process is postponed without judgment - and on November 4th it continues when the missing video can finally be presented. Guaranteed excitement!
