Altenburg's blueprints: New glimmer of hope on the Franzosengraben!

Altenburg's blueprints: New glimmer of hope on the Franzosengraben!

on the western edge of Altenburg, in the quiet French ditch, bubbles under the surface! The calm that has been here for years will soon give way to the excitement of construction activities! The State Development Society (LEG) Thuringia has decided to develop the unused area behind the net market into a home location after the city's largest building land project had stalled two years ago due to the increased construction prices.

Now, after an almost endless waiting time, there is progress: Leg has revised the parceling! Instead of 20 to 25 large building sites, around 30 smaller, more attractive plots are now to be built - in sizes between 564 and 1274 square meters! The aim is to make the construction projects more economical for investors and reduce the purchase prices - a booming chance in the tense real estate market!

radiant hopes for those willing to build

But bitterness remains! While the LEG calculates at 153 euros per square meter, the builders will impatiate with the hooves impatiently, because the actual prices could increase or fall depending on the development. The official start of the development work could currently not be before 2028 - only after further start -up time could the construction pits finally be dug into the hell!

Another damper recently came to light: rumors about pollution. Historical concerns about contaminated soils that could come from the former use by Mitteldeutsche Energieversorgung AG, raise questions. But the leg reacts promptly! It ensures a soil exchange to ensure that future builders can build on harmless soil. Holger Wiemers, spokesman for the LEG, assures: "The future builders will find unencumbered soil in the excavation excavation."

We look forward to developments in the French trench, where the plans for homes have been kept alive for over 25 years! The Altenburger will soon dream of reality - or will it ultimately only have another fairy tale?
