Söder's sharp warning: black-green could ruin Union!
CSU party leader Markus Söder has once again made his negative attitude clear to a possible coalition with the Greens. In a current explanation, he described the model black-green as the most unpopular coalition variant in Germany. Söder warned that support for such a coalition could lead to a weakening of the Union and strengthen the AfD. In his opinion, he cited Austria as an example, where the black and green alliance did not work.
Söder emphasized that the Union must appear as much as possible in the upcoming Bundestag election on February 23, and expressly excluded a coalition with the Greens after this election. This position has already caused criticism, especially from Schleswig-Holstein's Prime Minister Daniel Günther, who rules with a coalition of the CDU and the Greens.

Merz also criticized green economic policy and demands a change of policy. In its election program, the Union promises tax relief and a reduction in energy costs. SPD boss Lars Klingbeil, on the other hand, complained that the Union had no specific financing proposals for the targeted measures. Merz defended the Union election program as serious and referred to possible higher state revenue through economic growth.
Merz plans to save the citizens' allowance, which costs almost 50 billion euros, and speaks out against the current tax relief of the traffic light parties. A law to reduce the cold progression should be decided before the election, whereby the consent of the Union -led countries in the Federal Council is required. Chancellor Olaf Scholz calls for talks with the countries, while SPD boss Saskia Esken warns of a possible legislative blockage by the Union and emphasizes that cooperation in important decisions is necessary.
