Safe machines for our streets: Project Guardian starts in winter!
Safe machines for our streets: Project Guardian starts in winter!
In a pioneering initiative for the future of technology and financial markets, both the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and the Deutsche Bundesbank are committed to innovative projects. As part of the Guardian project, the AIT examines how autonomous machines can be used safely in areas such as logistics, construction and municipal waste disposal. The use of assistance systems and autonomous functions aims to overcome challenges in public space where unpredictable situations and changing weather conditions affect security and reliability. The creation of binding security standards is particularly important, since there are currently no uniform requirements that legally secure technical innovations. This emphasizes Patrik Zips, project manager at AIT, who points out that the technologies have to be further developed to recommend practical standards and to secure their test processes, as already noted in a report by ots.
collaboration for progress
At the same time, the Deutsche Bundesbank will actively work in the international project Guardian, which is managed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). This project aims to promote the tokenization of assets in the financial markets. The Bundesbank brings its experience from the time as a monetary authority of Germany and will take part in various pilot projects in order to test the applicability of tokenization in the capital market and to explore their advantages, as reported in an article by fintechnews.sg. Cooperation with other central banks is also intended to help develop common standards and to promote the interoperability of these new technologies.
The combination of these two projects shows how technological innovations can be promoted both in the industrial sector and finance. With Guardian, the AIT aims to create safe conditions for autonomous machines, while the Bundesbank places the basics of a robust digital asset ecosystem in the financial market. Both initiatives illustrate how important it is to promote innovative solutions in order to increase efficiency in their respective sectors and to increase social acceptance through clear standards and framework conditions.
